Welcome to "Pioneer Pup!" This pet-friendly chalet is where the convenience of a central location meets the mountains! Located minutes from both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, this pet-friendly home offers the balance between a relaxing mountain escape and easy access to the attractions and entertainment of the area. Whether you're seeking a relaxing night by the fire or want to be close to all the excitement, Pioneer Pup has something for everyone!

🏕️ THE CABIN:
This chalet is the definition of a cozy mountain retreat! The interior is tastefully furnished and thoughtfully designed to maximize both comfort and functionality. The living room features a large sofa where you can unwind after a day of exploring the great outdoors. You can also access the large back deck with plenty of outdoor seating. The well-equipped kitchen comes complete with all the amenities you need to create your own delicious meals. The cozy ambiance and the sounds of nature outside create the perfect setting for a restful night's sleep.

The lower level of the cabin has a private entrance. This level includes a twin-sized day bed, a full bathroom, air hockey table, mini fridge and microwave. It's a great spot for kids/teens to relax. There is also a chair/desk that makes a great space for a remote workstation!

Step outside onto the deck, where you can savor your morning coffee while enjoying the serenity of the surrounding woods. The back deck overlooks one of the five community fishing ponds which are free for guest use (no license required!). As you breathe in the fresh air, remember that the cabin is ideally located near numerous hiking trails and many other outdoor activities. There is also a wood-burning firepit on the front of the cabin that is the perfect spot to relax and share stories under the stars. Whether you're an avid hiker or simply enjoy leisurely nature walks, you'll find yourself immersed in the beauty of the wilderness. Pioneer Pup offers the perfect blend of nature, comfort, and tranquility. This is your opportunity to reconnect with both yourself and your friends and family, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Fully-equipped kitchen and stainless steel appliances; There is a full sized refrigerator for your groceries or any leftovers from trips out on the town. Utilize the dishwasher for a quick clean up anytime. Includes pots, pans, glasses, plates, silverware, etc. Eat comfortably at the wood dining table just steps outside the kitchen with space for 6!

Guests will have access to the entire cabin with the exception of the owner's closet.

We are available if you have any questions or concerns. We can be reached via Airbnb messenger.

DETAILS TO NOTE:
* Quiet hours are 11pm-7am.
* Maximum occupancy is 5 guests.
* There is a strict no-smoking policy.
* We provide a starter set of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, soaps/shampoos, and detergent. If you have a large group or are staying for an extended period, you may need to purchase (or bring) additional items.
* The fireplace is unavailable April 1st - October 1st (Standard for cabins in the area)

We have partnered with BabyQuip - the #1 baby equipment rental service and marketplace. BabyQuip offers rentals for your trip, including Cribs, Strollers, High Chairs, Toys/Games, Bouncers, Health and Safety Items, Outdoor Items, and More! Ask us for more information!

* We are unable to offer refunds due to weather or weather-related conditions, power outages, road conditions, or acts of God. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances. Four-wheel drive is recommended in winter conditions.

* We are unable to provide a late check-out without written approval. If a guest does not vacate the property by 10AM on their scheduled day of departure, the fee for failing to vacate is $100.00 for each half hour that the guest fails to vacate the property.

"The hosts were very communicative and sent someone to fix an issue during our stay. However, we had several issues. The carpet was very dirty. The knees of my infants pants turned brown after she crawled around for only a few minutes. I didn’t feel very comfortable having her on the floor. There was “tumble weeds” of pet hair around. There was also a noticeable amount of dust and grime on the ceiling and air vents especially. Our biggest problem was plumbing. The upstairs bathroom sink drained very slowly, the water pressure was hard then soft repeatedly when showering, and the downstairs shower stopped draining and overflowed.

This review is ridiculous. The guest sent us a message saying the sink wasn't draining. We sent someone out to fix it for them. 15 Minutes later they said it was fixed. They didn't mention any other issues their entire stay. After they checked out, they sent us a message requesting a full refund for 1 night for the "inconvenience." They didn't get a refund, but they did get a 1* review. ** For future guests** If you have any issues during your stay, we are more than happy to make sure you are taken care of, please just let us know :)

"This cabin was amazing. It’s in a peaceful, secluded area surrounded by beautiful trees. It’s beautifully decorated and has everything you could need. Our favorite part was the grill and Firepit outside. It was lovely to sit out there in the evenings to roast marshmallows and eat grilled food. Definitely great for dog lovers. There’s even dog bowls for the pups under the sink! Overall had a great experience and the hosts were very accommodating.

"Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The wifi didn’t work at all at first, and I had no service at the cabin. However, Mike and Jen were very responsive and we had it resolved fairly quickly. However, it was a bit slow unless you were in the living room right next to the router, so I think that is something to keep in mind if have any work to get done. We love hiking and the location was perfect for some of the more popular trails (only about 15 minutes from the Gatlinburg trail). The porch is gated, which was great for our dog to be able to sit outside while we were inside.

"We loved staying at this cozy cabin! The location was perfect - equal distance to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, and not too far a drive up the mountain. Our favorite feature was the fenced in deck, so our pups could spend time outside safely enjoying the fresh air. The place was comfortable and functional, which we truly appreciate because we like to cook breakfast and eat lunch at the cabin on our vacation. There were plenty of restaurants and activities nearby, including gorgeous hikes! The host was kind, communicative, and all around wonderful. We had a great stay, and would definitely book again!

"Jen and Mike's Pioneer Pup is a great place to unwind and unplug in the mountains. (WiFi is available, but spotty at times.) GPS directions are accurate, but would recommend you arrive during the daylight, as it is a steep climb at times and a sharp turn with few rails. Even though there are neighbors, we enjoyed a secluded feeling, especially when sitting outside on their fabulous double deck. We greatly enjoyed being serenaded by a multitude of birds, the wild turkey who greeted us home after every day's excursions, and were especially wowed by a mama bear leading her 3 cubs across our path as we walked the dog. (Snapped some pictures and hightailed it outta there! :) )
